Where is this kingdom of God?
You might ask this question in your heart or might be looking around for a physical phenomenon like the kingdom of this world (for example: a royal kingdom).
The kingdom of God is in your heart, God dwells in you. Luke 17:20 says “Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God will come, He answered them and said “ the kingdom of God does not come with observation, nor will they say, see here, or see there, for indeed the kingdom of God is within you”.
Attributes of the kingdom of God
- It is an everlasting kingdom. Daniel 4:34b
- It is spiritual. John 18:36
- It is a righteous kingdom. Romans 14:17; Hebrews1:8
- It is a powerful kingdom. 1 Corinthians 4:20; Matthew 4:23-24
Characteristics of kingdom citizens: Matthew 6:33
Kingdom citizen must be heaven focused
You must seek the salvation that is inherent in the kingdom of God because it is of greater value than all the world’s riches.
You are to seek the things of God as a priority over the things of the world. This does not mean that you should neglect the reasonable and daily duties that sustain your life, but for kingdom citizen, there should be a difference in attitude towards them.
If you take care of God’s business as a priority, then He will take care of your business as He promised, and if that is the case, why do you worry?
How do you know you are truly seeking God’s kingdom first?
Ask yourself these questions:
Where do I primarily spend my energies?
Is all your time and money spent on goods and activities that will perish?
Do you have passion for the things of the kingdom?
Prayer point: Lord have your way in my life, help me to fix me eyes on you.
